Racing Section Objectives
As a racing section we focus on K1 and K2 racing in both sprint and marathon distances. We currently have 3 crews training for the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster race at Easter. After that we will be looking towards both Scottish and British sprint regattas. Together with this, one of our 2010 objectives is to enter as many competitors as possible in the marathons which make up the Highland Series.
We are always seeking new members, both experienced paddlers and newcomers. At the moment we are planning our club development and hope to grow in numbers over the next few years. We have members who participate in sprint (200m, 500m 1000m), in marathon and who dabble in both, so we would welcome paddlers who want to come and train for either discipline.
Training
Our official club training nights are Tuesday and Thursday. We meet at Aberdeen Boat Club for 17.30. Please feel free to come along, introduce yourself and arrange a time to paddle with us. K1's can be rented for £2 a session from us. If you have a boat and would just like to come along and train then please contact us to let us know you plan to attend.
Although Tuesdays and Thursday are our official club training days there will usually be people paddling most nights. We also organise training sessions for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please feel free to get in touch and come along.
